Visa for Kyrgyzstan for citizen of most western countries for stays up to 60 days month have been abolished or are issued without invitation at the Kyrgyz Consulates and at Bishkek airport.

OVIR Police registration requirements have been abolished for visa holders.

All travellers travelling into Kyrgyzstan overland should be reminded that Kazakh transit visas should be applied for beforehand, that special conditions and requirements are still in effect for the passes into China and that the border in the Fergana valley is subject to frequent closings depending on the political situation and an alternative routing via Kazakhstan and the relevant visa rules should should be kept in mind.
